Early Logic

Osher has adopted a Russian-style pre-math outlook. Our teachers take time to help students develop their memories, think logically and solve problems.

A variety of mind-stimulants are always at hand, from a jigsaw puzzle to a disassembled flashlight. The children are given opportunities to solve riddles, play memory games, copy patterns (and make their own), sort, and sequence.

Older students measure and estimate, count, and begin thinking about numbers in a more abstract way. What does “zero” mean? How far up do numbers go?

These activities are very popular with our students and, like art, are integrated naturally into discovery time and free play.
